Location

Our ground floor, one bedroom, spacious apartment is situated at the apex of Rue Jouan Nicola and Rue St. Augustin on the edge of Vieux Nice and just minutes away from the beautiful, classical Place Garibaldi. It is near enough to enjoy the bustling markets, shops, restaurants and bars of the old town but far enough away for it to be a quiet and peaceful haven. The beaches, museums, art galleries and theatres are also close at hand. Where else could you have such diversity of venues on your doorstep?

Accommodation

The apartment is light and airy with white marble floors throughout. The double bedroom has a new double bed and is fully fitted with bedside tables and lamps and a dressing table. A large wardrobe takes care of the storage.

The American style kitchen with its tiled worktops is fully equipped for six people and has an oven, hob and hood, dishwasher, washing machine/drier, refrigerator and the dividing breakfast bar allows the Chef to chat to friends and family.

The spacious lounge has a sofa bed for additional sleeping if required but in the alcove, discreetly positioned at one end, are two full sized bunk beds which will sleep adults as well as children. There is also a dining table and four chairs, a TV with terrestial channels plus a DVD player and a stereo/CD player all of which are there for your relaxation.

The bathroom just off the small entrance hall has a bath/shower with glass shower partition, vanity-unit hand basin and a toilet, all fitted out in marble to a high standard.

Further information
Parking is difficult in Nice although there is a secure underground carpark some 5 minutes away but a car is not necessary. The public transport is excellent and Sunbus/Ligne Azur is the local Nicois transport which will take you anywhere in the city. The buses are frequent and run from the terminus regularly. It is so easy to get from the Airport at the other end of the Promenade des Anglais to anywhere in Nice and to Vieux Nice it is just a 25 minute ride at the most. There are also trains leaving from the Gare Thiers mainline station on a regular basis which will take you right along the coast in either direction, west to Saint Raphael and east to Ventimiglia in Italy.

There is also a very inexpensive coach service from the Gare Routiere  which, again, is only minutes from our apartment on the very edge of Vieux Nice. There are frequent coaches to Aix-en-Provence, the coastal towns of Antibes, Cagnes-sur-Mer, Cannes and up into Grasse, Vence as well as to St. Raphael, Monaco, Menton and Marseille. In winter-time, the ski resort of Isola 2000 is only about one and a half hours away by coach or car.

Nice also has a colourful working port, Port Lympia. From here the ferry sails to Corsica and Sardinia and operates day trips to  Monaco, St. Tropez, Ste. Maxime, Port Grimaud and Les Isles de Lerins.

But if it is just a lazy holiday you want, you can sunbathe on the beach opposite the Cours Saleya and then take a leisurely stroll back to our apartment to a chilled bottle of rose waiting for you in the fridge.
