Our first floor spacious two bedroom apartment is situated at
the apex of Rue Jouan Nicola and Rue de la Providence in Place St. Clair
which is next to the Chateau Gardens. The location is ideal as it is
on the very edge of Vieux Nice but near enough to it to enjoy the bustling
market on the Cours Saleya and Place Garibaldi. The tempting food shops,
colourful restaurants and bars of the Old Town are just minutes away
but far enough for the flat to be a quiet and peaceful haven. The beaches,
museums, art galleries and theatres are also close at hand.

The apartment is light and airy with pale beige marble tiles
throughout. The spacious lounge/dining room has French windows leading
out onto a small balcony which catches the sun most of the day. For
entertainment, there is a LCD TV which gets terrestrial channels as
well as a DVD and stereo/CD player. There are two good sized bedrooms,
one with a double bed, fitted cupboards and bedside tables and lamps
and the other with two bunk beds and a sofa bed. The newly equipped
and fitted kitchen also has a small table for breakfast or snacks, a
full sized fridge/freezer, so important in the hot summer months, an
integrated oven and hob and hood, dishwasher and washer/drier. The bathroom
has a shower and washhand basin and there is a separate w.c.
The apartment has been recently totally renovated to a very high standard
and the colours and furnishings reflect the ambiance of Provence and
the South.

Vieux Nice is also famous for its fine baroque churches and the
Cathedral in Place Rossetti. The Palais Lascaris in rue Droite is an
old Italian Nobleman’s Palace and is an Historic Monument. But
if it is just a lazy holiday you want, you can stroll down to the beach
within 5-10 minutes (depending on how fast you stroll) and come back
to the apartment to enjoy a glass of rose cool from the fridge.
